Brokkr
Brokkr
"Brokkr" (Old Norse for "the one who works with metal fragments; blacksmith")
One day Loki was boasting about all the great things the Sons of Ivaldi (a family of dwarves) were capable of creating. The Dwarf Brokkr who was in Asgard at the time overheard and bet his head with Loki that he and his brother Eitri could make even greater treasures, one of which would become "Mjolnir" the mighty hammer of Thor. When judged by the Gods they were deemed superior and Brokkr won his bet with Loki!
This piece felt like I had made a bet with the God of Mischief as well, and as such the triumph of completing it felt just as grand! This piece has the most stones I've ever used (154) the most time spent on a single piece (85 hours) and I also utilized at least 5 new settings/techniques I've never before used.
All of the stones for this project were provided by Jake Daniels of Doctor J Jewelry
